Dipa Bai
Dipa Bai, 1679, Mahratha princess. Wife of Ekoji of Tanjore, the step-brother of Shivaji, she was noted as a wise and influential lady. She advised her husband to come to terms with Shivaji and to give up his allegiance to the ruler of Bijapur, for which Shivaji expressed his gratitude to her. Her three sons ruled Tanjore in succession.
