Cary Grant
Cary Grant stage name of Archibald Leach (1904-86). US film actor, born in Britain. After making his Hollywood debut in 1933, he appeared as the sophisticated in’ leading man in numerous films, especially comedies and thrillers. These included The Philadelphia Story (1940), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), and several films for Alfred Hitchcock, notably North by Northwest (1959).
