Rajyasri
Rajyasri , 550, Maukhari princess. Daughter of Prabhakara, the ruler of Thanesar, by his queen Yasomati, she was the sister of the great Harshavardhana (d. 647). While only 13 or 14, she was married to Grahavarman, the Maukhari ruler of Kanauj. In about 606 her husband was slain by ‘the wicked King of Malwa’ and Rajyasri was made a prisoner, which sorely -distressed her brother. She later escaped from prison, and was about to throw herself into fire, when her brother, Harsha rescued her, and also made himself master of Kanauj. She was reputed to be very learned and beautiful, and was closely associated with her brother in all his religious work.
