Jean Piaget
Jean Piaget, (1896-1980). Swiss psychologist. Having first studied biology, he became interested in the development of thought processes in the young. His experiments with his own children led him to describe the stages in which thought, perception, and language develop. An early and important work of his is The Language and Thought of the Child (1926).
