You were walking past a car park. You saw two teenagers loitering.
It was past midnight. I was returning home after my graduation party. I was walking past a car park when I thought I saw two figures lurking in the shadows of the huge trees and vehicles.
Feeling a little suspicious, I went closer to the car park and at the same time, hid behind a pillar so that I would not be seen. I saw two teenagers, both with a haversack, walking from car to car. I knew they could not be driving and from their actions, I had a feeling they were trying to break into cars.
Though it was very late and my parents would be worried, I decided to stay on a little longer to watch and if the need arose, I would call the police. Then I witnessed their first break in. Upon checking that the coast was clear, one of them managed to unlock the car door and then they began to check the car for valuables. I saw them take the cash card from the reader. This went on for about three cars and I realised that I had to do something quick. I took out my mobile phone and called the police. I told them what had happened and they said that they would send someone over.
I continued waiting and in order not to worry my parents, I called them and told them what was happening and they told me that they were coming to join me. Minutes ticked by and I was getting worried. These two teens seemed to have broken into at least six vehicles and most likely would be making their escape soon.
Just then, I saw the blinking lights of the police patrol car. I was greatly relieved. The police officers dashed out from the car and without a hitch, arrested the two boys. My parents arrived to witness the arrest. The two boys were led away and the loot in their bags was enough evidence against them.
After that, I walked home with my parents. We wondered what had prompted the two boys to steal. Whatever it was, I hoped they learnt a lesson.
