It was recess. You were going to buy food when you realised that you had forgotten your wallet. You went back to class to get it. When you were going into the class, you saw someone in the classroom.
Ring! The bell for recess had gone off. I was very hungry so I ran down to the canteen. When I reached the canteen, I queued up at my favourite stall. Halfway through, I realised that I had left my wallet in class. Grumbling to myself, I ran up the stairs to get my wallet.
When I reached the fourth level, I was panting heavily. I walked to my classroom and to my surprise, there was someone in my classroom. There should not be anyone in class during recess. I thought the person must have also forgotten his wallet.
As I approached, I was shocked to see that the person was moving from one bag to another. He was ransacking my classmates’ bags! When I took a closer look, I found out that the boy was not from my class. I knew which class he was from. I knew I had to act fast.
I turned round quickly and made my way to the General Office. At the office, I informed the Operations Manager who in turn informed the principal. My principal asked me to lead the way to the classroom.
When we reached my classroom, the boy was still inside. He was walking out with a wallet in his hand when he saw us. He was dumbfounded when he saw us and his face turned white with fear. Before he could say anything, the Operations Manager led him to the office while my principal sent me to the canteen for my recess.
After school, I was summoned to the General Office. I was asked to give a statement of what had happened. I saw the boy in the principal’s office and he was crying. His parents were informed but fortunately, he was given a chance so he would not face suspension. I hoped he had learnt a lesson.
