Major Gold Fields in India
In nature, gold is associated with quartz veins. According to most of the geologists, gold was emplaced within the fracture zone of the older quartz veins under the influence of heat and pressure.
The major gold fields of India include the following:
Kolar Gold Field, Karnataka.
Hutti Gold Field, Karnataka.
Ramagiri (Anantapur) Gold Field, Andhra Pradesh.
Gadag Gold Field, Karnataka.
Wayanad Gold Field, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
In addition to these, there are a few more potential goldfields which may, in future, grow into large goldfields. Some Indian rivers have gold grains mixed in the river-sands, which may be worked out only as smaller deposits.
