Emperor Claudius declared that all the Roman soldiers must be completely loyal to Rome. He went ahead and barred them from marrying. However, St Valentine started to marry the roman soldiers in secret ceremonies thus making the onset of his reputation for his strong belief in the significance of love. However, Valentine was found out by Emperor Claudius on 14th February in the year 270 and he was executed for his deeds. Hundreds of years later, the 14th February was named St Valentine’s Day thus establishing the Valentine’s Day festival which is celebrated worldwide on every 14th February.
