Bibi Ambha
Bibi Ambha, later 15th cent., Afghan princess, wife of Sultan Buhlol Lodi (d. 1489). Originally a Hindu, she found that the claims of her son, Nizam Khan, were being set aside because he was born of a Hindu mother. She gathered many Afghan nobles to her side, and addressing the assembly from behind the purdah, succeeded in putting her son on the throne, who took the title of Sikandar Lodi.
