Buwa Begum
Buwa Begum, d. ca. 1526, Lodi princess. Mother of Sultan. Ibrahim Lodi, she fell into the hands of Babar after the defeat and death of her son at the battle of Panipat. She was, at first, very kindly treated by the Mughal invader, but was severely dealt with when she , was later detected trying to poison him. While being taken away to Kabul as a prisoner, she managed to free herself, and committed suicide by throwing herself into the river Indus.
