Karunya Kumari
Karunya Kumari, later 12th cent., Rajput princess. Widow of Vikram Singh, Rana of Mewar, and mother of the minor Rana Karan, she herself donned the armour and led her forces against Qutb-ud-Din Aibek, the general of the Afghan invader Muhammad Ghori. She defeated him in a battle near Ajmer in 1196, in which he was severely wounded.
