Nafisa Begum
Nafisa Begum, mid 18th cent., princess of Bengal. Sister of Sarfaraz Khan, nawab of Bengal, who was defeated and killed by Alivardi Khan in April 1740, she was honorably treated by the victor, and allowed the possession of her property. She was later taken to Dacca by Nawazish Muhammad Khan, a nephew of Alivardi Khan, who treated her as his own mother, and made her incharge of his household.
