Tara Bai
Tara Bai, early 16th cent., Rajput warrior. Daughter of Rao-Surthan, Solanki chief of Bednore, both the father and daughter had migrated to central India and later to Tonk Thoda because of the Muslim invaders. When ousted from that place too, they moved to Bednore. Tara Bai joined hands in..efforts to take back Thoda, and agreed to marry Prithiwiraj, son of Rana Raimall, on the condition that he would retake Thoda for her father. In the ensuiug battle Thoda was retaken and the Muslim governor killed. Her husband was later poisoned and she committed sati.
