Zeba Chehra
Pari Chehra, or Zeba Chehra, 1436-57, Bahmani queen, Daughter of a Raja of Sangameshwar, in Konkar, she was formally given away in marriage to the Bahmani sultan, Ala-ud-Din Ahmad H, in 1436 following his campaign in Konkan. She so captivated the heart of the sultan by her youth and beauty, that it excited the jealousy of the senior queen, Zainab, a daughter of the ruler of Khandesh, who appealed to her father to invade the kingdom, but the Bahmani forces soon defeated the invaders and threw them back. Pari Chehra (`Fairy Face’) and Zeba Chehra (`Beautiful Face’) were the titles given to her by the sultan for her beauty ; her real name is not known.
