Aeschylus

Aeschylus (BC 525-456 BC), Athenian dramatist, considered the father of Greek tragedy. His plays, which deal with moral and political issues, were also noted for their impressive theatrical effects. Only seven of his more than 80 works survive, including The Persians (472 BC), about the Persian Wars in which Aeschylus himself fought, and the Oresteia (458 BC), a trilogy concerned with the curse on the house of Atreus.
