Andres Segovia
Andres Segovia, (1893-1987). Spanish guitarist. Largely self-taught, he gave his first concerts in Spain and in 1924 made his debut in Paris. He subsequently toured all over the world, reviving interest in the guitar as a concert instrument and inspiring many composers to write new works for it. In 1981 he became Marquis of Salobrefia.
