Ingmar Bergman
Ingmar Bergman (1918), Swedish stage and film director, writer, and producer. He became internationally known for his films, over which he had complete control. They are noted for their technical excellence and for the distinguished performances of the small group of actors who appear in most of them. They include The Seventh Seal (1956), Wild Strawberries (1957), The Virgin Spring (1959), Persona (1966), the television film Scenes from a Marriage (1974), and Fanny and Alexander (1982).
