Dear readers,
M.K. Vidyalay, Banaras recently hosted its annual sports meet with more than 150 students participating in it. The event took place at University Ground. It witnessed a variety of activities. The school has always valued the role of sports in the development of its students.
Tree plantation was carried out in the school compound. Following the plantation, the guests were ushered to the school ground where all were presented with a bouquet. This marked the beginning of the opening ceremony.
Senior students presented a welcome song following with the annual sports report of the school. The Principal proudly announced that ten students were sent for the national level sports meet held in Mumbai and they had won many medals for the school.
The sports meet started by unfurling the school flag. Students divided into four houses displayed a synchronized March Past. The fifth and the sixth group comprised of Scouts and Guides. The March Past was led by the sports captains. This was followed by the torch relay performed by students who represented the school at the national level in different fields of sports.
Various performances were presented by students. Human pyramid presenting a display of archery was one of the most important attractions of the event. This displayed the physical and mental strength of students.
At the end of the grand event, awards were distributed to the winners. Students who had represented the school at the national level were also felicitated. The chief guests then addressed the sports meet followed by a vote of thanks to all. The sports meet concluded with the National Anthem.
