Ranu the Fox and Eels
A fisherman after spending a day by the river caught a basketful eels. While he was returning home in his cart, Ranu the fox saw him and thought of a trick to have a delicious dinner. He lay in the middle of the road and pretended to be dead.
The fisherman saw Ranu lying still on the road. He picked up the fox and became happy that at least he will have a beautiful fox skin. He put the ‘dead’ fox on the back of his cart again started on his journey.
While the cart was moving , Ranu ate away all the eels stored in the basket and ran off. That day the fisherman had to suffer a big loss.
