Khujjuttara
Khujjuttara, 560-480 B.C., Buddhist saint. She was named Khujjuttara (`Hunch-backed Uttara’) as she was hunch-backed from her birth. An attendant to Queen Samavati of Kausambi, she was in the habit of stealing half the amount given to her by the queen. She was pardoned when she confessed, and was told to listen to the discourse of Buddha and resneat it to the queen. These discourses, in the form of a collection in Pali, are called Itivuttaka. She grew into a vastly learned woman.
